Who
I had a bed cut back in 2003, I ran 2 memphis entry level 15's off the 1000D With my volts dropping to 8 at 52 Hz I was hitting 149 db with no sound deadening and pretty much NO headliner, A fellow shop guy was hitting 161db with 4 comp VR's and 2 memphis 1000D's with all the electrical stuff right and good sound proofing, (usac outlaw) Steve meAde and other guys are running 2 or 3 times the equipment these days and crazy watt claims... What gives, how is my old system hitting 150 and meade gets 155!?!?! The 4 12's in that guys was hitting 161 and I just say a video of a guy with 12-12's only get 163?? Was that the dude with the half done wall at the arlington heights meet up that one time? If so dude stepped up his fucking game. Also OP, the difference is, your friend probably tuned and competed, meaning he was hitting a higher Hz. While steve's set up is not for competition what so ever.
