Welcome to the world of thief. Sorry that they snagged your stuff. It's a learning experience. They stole my stuff after after I showed off my system to a co-worker. Interesting how that happened, but couldn't prove that she had anything to do with it. This is what I learned and I am passing it on to you. Sorry if it sounds like a lecture. Again it happened to me too so you are not alone!

.....You know what you have to do.......

1. First you're an easy target if you are known NOT TO HAVE AN ALARM. I did not have an alarm until after my thief. I was never broken into again. Funny how that happens.

2. You're friends in the video, they can be your friends, but they have friends that have friends and you may no know them. Again, the described scenario may have happened to may but hard to prove.

3. That tweeter at the bottom of the A-Pillar. DEAD GIVEAWAY. You need to be stealth with your audio. It just says "Hey look at me, I have tweeters, which means I have mids, which means I have an am", etc. Not playing your music in your neighborhood has very little to do with it.

4. You can not go bigger without first starting over. Invest in an alarm first and foremost. Let people see that. It will be your first deterrent.

I like what someone said about disengaging the trunk release. I like that.

5. Someone mentioned having stuff bolted down. Why wasn't it bolted down??? The box in my bimmer is huge. You have to fight it to get it out. Now, my amp can be stolen, but you'll have to take unscrew it off the ramp rack that is bolted to the trunk first. lol. (They stole my MTX amps from my S-10 because they came with replaceable ISO-FEET. I wish MTX would have kept track of these little guys when customers called to ask for replacements, some amps could have been stolen and needs the ISO-FEET replaced, just a thought.) My amp is all metal footings.

6. You know full coverage is not that much more, the difference is $105 for basic and $134 for full coverage per month. The piece of mind for the extra $29 was priceless. (As men, we will spend that shit on a date, but will cry and say "We have no money" when it comes to shit we need to pay for. I don't get it!) I had full coverage on my S-10 so it was just a phone call to have the amps replaced and the window fixed. My analogy is this, and your parents will agree, if you don't have the $$ for full coverage, you don't have the $$ to get another system especially one that is louder or bigger. Priorities are priorities.

I can think of more to write, but I'm just waking up and need to have my coffee.

I just spend 9 hours yesterday putting in a system in GF's son's truck. With the seats up, you can't see jack. It's jacked up too. The tweeters are positioned low close to the door speaker, and the way the dash is designed, it offers shade to the door panel where the tweeter sits. His truck looks stealth , just how I like it. He is looking at alarms today.

Sorry to sound like an elder. lol. I've been in your shoes and it does suck. Learn from it. If you do learn from it, than it was worth it. If you don't learn from it, than you not smart. lol.

Oh,and when it's time to go bigger Ebay and Pawn shops like Valu Pawn are your friends. I believe they have Valu Pawn in Texas.

His system, I think I have about $400.00. It was his Xmas present and Birthday present rolled in to one.

$210 in both Crossfire amps. purchased on Ebay

$50 in the head unit. purchased at a pawn shop

$60 in the wiring. purchased on Ebay

$80 in the box, all built by me.

Any thing is possible if you do it right and buy used. It was worth the 2 months of gathering all name brands dirt cheap. It's my dime so I'm cheap.

I made out like a bandit!

This way if they steal it again, you will only have what you paid USED loss, and not the retail price.
