Recommended enclosure for 2 DC XL 15" m2

Recommended Posts

Hello,
I have mazda protege sedan.
Trunk will be sealed. The enclosure will be on the back seat.
What is the best enclosure for 2 DC XL 15" m2, tuned to 32Hz ?
Dimensions are:
Height:20" Width:44" Length:20"
For max results, where to fire at:
Subs and port towards the front windshield, or subs upward/frontward and port sideward to the door?
Amp is DC 5k. powered by 2 XS power D2700 & mechman 320A alt.

Say no to back seat boxes, yikes!.

I doubt you'll get any real design advice for this, as it is completely NOT ideal and will likely not sound very good at all. Get 2 12s, put them in the trunk where they belong. Orrr, buy two more XLs and wall the car.

Walling is not my honest suggestion, putting the subs in the proper location is. Back seat boxes are no good, and I'll just about guarantee you'd be louder out of the trunk(assuming seats fold down) with 2 12s of the same brand and model, vs 2 15s in an "on the seat" enclosure.

already have the 15s...
the reason I went back seat box is neto practical, so I can pull them out when I want.
If i do a trunk build, I`ll lose the access to the spare wheel, all the weight well be in the back of the car.
and the main reason is how I can disassemble the build in the future , there is no way but breaking it.

Nothing wrong with a back seat box, just make sure you find a way to secure it down properly. Don't want to hit the breaks and it go flyin.

You are going to want 3.5ft3 per sub net airspace.

If you have any questions, shoot me a pm and I will be glad to help you out.

there is no room for 2 15" subs and port If I do trunk wall.

the hole between the back seat and the trunk is 32"x16", wich is basically just for 2 subs without port, or I can port through the rear deck.

all the idea about the back seat box that I can pull it when I want. not like trunk box build, I have to break it when pulling it out.

CJ18 did you hear a double 15" in a back seat? if so, how was it?
