jadoskater23 Posted February 5, 2014 Report Posted February 5, 2014 I just resently bought a Polk 660 4 channel amp from best buy. This was going to replace my 2 channel Rockford fosgate punch 200. Once I put the Polk amp and tuned it i noticed the sound was off. I was trying to figure it out and the Polk amp went in and out of protect mode. So I took the amp back, but whenever I put my Rockford fosgate amp back in I have this constant static and popping coming from my 6 1/2 in Polk speakers. Does anyone know why this is happening?

Skullz Posted February 5, 2014 Report Posted February 5, 2014 Check all of the wires and speakers and make sure nothing is shorting out causing the problem. If your using the stock wiring you'll want to run all new wire to the speakers, as stock wiring is prone to this problem. 01 Ford focus ZX3 Pioneer AVH-X491BHS PPI PC 4800.2 Morel Maximo 6.5" x2

I have all after market wires and my amp is grounded directly to an xs power 3400 battery. I hook a different speaker up using new wires.
