Running my amp at lower impedance than it's meant for?

The shit storm erupted when I posted that got double the rated power at 2 ohms and the amp doesn't seem to mind.

Wiz's results on the 2300 was 1800w at 2ohms and 2200w at 1ohm. Rated at 600w

You're still going to tell me I'm wrong?

I didn't say that. But there is support on my side that choose to stay silent and I don't blame them. That just tells me that this place does have people who see past your BS and will probably get as big a kick out of wiz's vid as I did as it relates to this thread.

Un-certified burst is far from what it put up certified. It put up around 840W and this makes sense because the amp is rated at 12.5V. He had nearly a full volt over that on his bench test.

He even said himself,"please don't blow up on me". He was worried himself if it would smoke on the bench. Certainly not safe to run daily with that kind of stress. He was worried about a 1-2 second burst at that ohm load.

Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.

The point is some of the "experienced" members can get a little ahead of them selfs and people are seeing that

To cover non-certified and certified I'll use an analogy.

You need a liver transplant and you are able to choose from two doctors, one is a certified doctor while the other is uncertified.

The certified doctor might have a little more reliable results.

Krakin, are you some sort of mad scientist?

I would have replied earlier, but I was measuring the output of my amp with a yardstick . . .

What you hear is not the air pressure variation in itself

but what has drawn your attention

in the two streams of superimposed air pressure variations at your eardrums

An acoustic event has dimensions of Time, Tone, Loudness and Space

Everyone learns to render the 3-dimensional localization of sound based on the individual shape of their ears,

thus no formula can achieve a definite effect for every listener.

Carbon had over 7K posts, did that make him "experienced"?

He said don blow up at 1ohm. Even I don't recommend 1 ohm, but 2ohms? It'll do that all day to the tune of double rated power. My amp is rated at 400w at 14 volts. I got over 900w out of it with music playing the way Iistem to it. That's as close to a real world senerio as it gets. And I agree that my test isn't ideal for 100% accuracy but it's good enough to prove to myself that I'm pushing WAY more than rated as if it isnt obvious just by hearing it

Even if you do gain 400W from 500W @ 2-ohms you MIGHT hear a difference with a pure tone, even less likely with music.
