you sound like me LSN... lol.... at one point I had about 30-40subwoofers in my garage ranging from 6"- 15" Well, the number was alot higher, I had 2 boxes of 60- 6.25" subwoofers, then the rest were the 8s, 10s, 12s, 15s, and other 6"s... I have dwindeled down to about 15-20 subs, and about 30 oddball misc mids/coaxes/tweeters

I have a ritual called "terminator". I crouch in the shower in the "naked terminator" pose. With eyes closed I crouch for a minute and visualize either Arnie or the guy from the 2nd movie. I then start to hum the T2 theme. Slowly I rise to a standing position and open my eyes. It helps me get through my day. The only problem is if the shower curtain sticks to my terminator leg. It sorta ruins the fantasy.

hey Forevrbumpn.  i biult 2nd tline box, sounds great. im wondering max rms power for 1/4 tline box and 1 sub?

i have this q. because lots of tline boxes use small subs and low wattage, so im thinking that there would be max amp rms power where to much would be waste.

I NEED HELP!!!< haha, alright tonight i am designing  a 1/4 tline for my rodeo... i have lots of space in the back and what to give this design a shot... i have 2 tens i will be puting into it.. so far using your equations i have figured i need a port of 120 sq in. and it has to be 8.75 ft. long... what i am wondering is, does th port have to take up the whole width of the box muxh like the one you built, or can it be sectioned off into a different "shape" but still the proper dimensions.....also, does each mid section of the box have to be the same... my sub is approx. 6 in mounting depth....sop basically if i build my box to take up the back of my truck i would have a port 40'' by 2''.... and then 2'' to each mid section i would have no room to mount a sub, let alone 2.... either i am making this way harder then it is or i have not caught the right sentence that explains this question, any help asap would be apprecited!!!

This is one of the greatest things i have read in a long time. i reall appreciate you taking the time to do this tutorial. but i have a question for you or anyone who can answer.... if a driver is suited for a TL but its Fs is low so it needs a really long length and you want to shorten it by using polyfill, which you stated can be done, how much does that shorten the length? is there a percentage? for example, if full length should be 12ft but polyfill reduces length by 25% you can make it 9 feet and it will have the same tune? thanks in advance, Trevor

"And you CAN go short on a tline, and stuff it with poly fill, or line the walls with 1" or 2" poly fill, and you can similate a line about 50% longer."

as i read through the second time i realized you did put a percentage. is this a guess or a fact? i cant believe it would change 50%. so a DD 2512 could go from a 6.6 ft length down to a 3.3 ft length with an estimated Sd of 88 and Fs of 26?

one more thing... how do you measure the length? i made something on paint but i dont knwo how to post it... but in your paint document... do you measure all the red? or do you just measure to where they intersect and then change 90 degrees, which would be the measurement right down the middle... I've seen someone add up all the port wall segments and total that to their total length needed which seems too short compared to what you do. could you please explain? or if you ahve all the measurments of the box you just did that would be great!

Thank you so much for this tutorial! I always wanted to try a t-line, and it all seemed too confusing for a relative novice (shit im only 18) to try.  I'm thinking of building one for my friend as a guinea pig.  He runs a type r 12 though, with a QTS of .47, is that too high for a t-line?

Can't wait to try it out! Thanks again!

Question 2: Would this setup even be worth the space taken up?  Going from 2.5 cu ft to around 7 is a big jump.  (That figure is just an estimate, but the overall area is between 6 and 8)

k, question 3.  When stuffing with polyfill, how packed am i going? you said loosely, but I just want to make sure so my tuning's not off.  I'd rather not give up 14 feet if i can restrict it to 7.  Should I just pack it tight and assume its 50% reduction in length?

Thanks again!

General rule-of-thumb w/ poyfilling a "traditional" box is 1lb per cubic foot.

I'd go out on a limb and assume the same here unless anyone has info suggesting a diff percentage/mix.
