Yellow1000
Wow. Sorry guys, connection issues. Exact cone area ? As in specific to my hx2?
bbeljefe
Yes, start with the exact cone area for the sub, which should be 53in². You can reduce the line area up to ~40% for an increase in sound pressure but you'll loose a little bit of performance on the higher notes. Yellow1000
So if I get this correct any height and width dimension to equal 53 square inches.
bbeljefe
Yes, but to correct my previous comment, it's 56.75in². Facebook: facebook.com/audioanarchyllc Instagram: audioanarchyllc Youtube: youtube.com/bbeljefe
Yellow1000
Alright. I'll see what I can do ! Thanks. Any suggestions on what frequency to tune to?
bbeljefe
I usually tune to 30Hz or 10Hz below Fs, whichever is higher. With subs that have a particularly high Fs I've tuned as much as 20Hz below Fs but that doesn't happen often. Here's a line I built for 6.5" subs with an Fs of ~53Hz. I tuned at 35 and it does really nice. I've built a line for similar subs in the past and tuned it at the Fs (46Hz)... It didn't perform well at all below ~40Hz so with this one I decided to give the subs a little help down low and it paid off. Yellow1000
This makes a lot of sense to me, my buddies have had issues with the low tuning. He shot for 35 hz and It came out around 44-45. So i will shoot for about 25hz on my build. The fs of my sub is 28.
bbeljefe
It'll need to be 135" long. Facebook: facebook.com/audioanarchyllc Instagram: audioanarchyllc Youtube: youtube.com/bbeljefe
Yellow1000
I built it. Got a few small air leaks currently. I'll let you know the results once I fix that.
