port ratio? help!

im currently working on a design for my 2 18's walled in my colorado. shell is going to be almost touching my seat and was going to do a side port. but i have since decided to try and make it a top port instead since there is more room to the air to go. on torres i have a design but is a port ratio of 1:10 to much? ive read the general rule of no higher than 1:9 but to get the tuning close to where i want i cant make it any lower. im not worrying about competing i jsut want a daily ground pounder. any help would be appricated. thanks

any tips on knocking it down? i think i have to settle with somewhere around there because nothings working :madrofl::madrofl:

I don't think you are going to get many tips other than redesign your wall so you can fit a lower aspect ratio port. I've heard some folks say keep it under 5:1, other say keep it under 8:1. I try to stay under 6:1, but the closer to square the better.

You don't need to go side to side as you can see below, it's more parts to assemble but you can control ratio to some degree:
