Is it Worth it to add these crossovers?

Yesterday picked these Diamond Audio S6.0x xrossovers up for next to nothing on craigslist I have a pair of silk dome tweeters from my last Alpine Component set laying around. Currently I'm running no tweeters. If I hook Up everything the way it's supposed to, (Crossovers to amp, tweeters to crossover, front mids to crossover, and rear fill speakers to the raf on the crossover) everything should work fine and sound pretty good if not better than before correct?

Here's a pic of them. Dont think I did too bad for $20

what Amp are you running? it could be worth it it could not. personally i Like crossovers gives you that much more control. if you are running a 2 channel Amp to front door speakers then yes i would use the croosover to add the tweets.

its kind of a loaded question tho. what ohm are they? are you running mids in the doors or cox?

Im running the mids on a 2-channel mb quart raa2400, the mids im running now are actually eminence eminator. Supposedly their "car audio" line. They're 8 ohms. Have two wired in parallel on each channel of the mb quart. So right now its around 4 ohms per channel.

so you have 4 mids and no tweets? then yes absolutely yes run the tweets. don't know what ohm they are but all should be fine

Yes lol 4 mids and no tweets. After I wire everything I'll check the final ohm load at the amp to be sure its not a crazy ohm load at the amp. Thanks for chiming in AJ

Do you know what impedance the crossovers were designed for? 4 ohms is typical for a mid-woofer but tweets can often times be 8 ohms as well as 4 ohms. A 1st order crossover designed for a 4 ohm load @ 4kHz would use a capacitor twice the value of one designed for an 8 ohm tweet.

Dont know for sure what ohm the crossovers were designed for. I'm 99% sure the mids that the crossovers came with were 4 ohm though, so maybe i should wire the speakers in parallel like i already have them to to the crossovers and forget the rear fill section on the crossovers. What ya think?

what ohm are the tweets? id just run them and call it a day. figure out final ohm And set. either way tweets are gonna sound better then not having them

ok so today hooked everything up, i think the tweets ended up being 4 ohms, and my final resistance at the amp on each channel ended up being 4 ohms. When I first heard the music coming from my speakers I was amazed. Its amazing at how much of a difference those crossovers and the tweets made. My system actually sounds clean as fuck now. Preciate the help fellas

nice find I am using some re branded Diamond D6 X-overs in my Mazda and they take 100rms clean no problem.

The RAF terminals do this ---> In addition to the woofer and tweeter outputs, each crossover has a third output for a Rear Acoustic Fill (RAF) speaker. The RAF speakers are powered by the same 2-channel amp as the component set and are apportioned 15%-20% of the total power. The RAF output is full range.

Havent messed with the RAF yet its there.

You should also be able to adjust tweeter attenuation and phase using the jumpers inside but if it sounds good no need
