ncc74656 Posted February 23, 2014 Report Posted February 23, 2014 im toying with new ideas for sub boxes. looking at 2 18" sp4's int he rear of a 2500 dodge ram. 1" mdf with a .75" mdf port. (bracing not in yet). about 7 cubic per sub. would i run into standing waves having the subs as a mirror on both sides? just on the basics of the shape/over all size what are your thoughts? nothing, gutted

I know the port acts as a great brace in that layout, but the subs are heavy and they will beat a single baffle like it owes them money. Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.
ncc74656 Posted February 23, 2014 Author Report Posted February 23, 2014 i was thinking of adding bracing to try and hold things. if i run a double baffle could i simply cut a square piece of wood to fit into the box and glue to the under side of the kerfed port or would i need to run the same thickness down the entire port length? considering that the baffle down to the bottom of the port is one piece of wood. nothing, gutted
