Markous
SMD'ers i have a favour to ask, i have a Sundown X10 subwoofer that i plan on powering with recommended RMS wattage via a Sundown SAZ-1200D amplifier. In communicating with Sundown i was told that the sub enclosure should have 1.5 ft3 of net volume with 20in2 of port area with 1.5" minimum gap behind the sub. The driver displaces approximately 0.12ft3 of airspace. I would like to tune to 30hz I have messed around with torres and think i have come up with a proper design but would like to see what others come up with so i can check my own work to see if i did it right. I have 14.75 x 14.75 x 36 of available space which seems to be more than enough room, i would like the slot port behind the drivers seat and the sub facing upwards. I was going to build the exterior of the box with doubled up 0.75" mdf and single 0.75" for the interior port walls. This box will be going in an extended cab Ranger which has a 170amp mechman, Audiotechnix Big 3 and a pair of group 65 rebranded Northstar AGM if anyone finds that info applicable. Not looking for critiques on how i want/going to build it, just looking to get some numbers to double check my design against. I started a similar topic in the Sundown forum but thought i should put it here, as not everyone goes in that section i suppose. Edited OP, looking at slot porting How about sub/port up in a slot port. Thank you, but you missed the double baffle. pretty close though to my #'s '07 Ford Ranger - DM-608 I E700.4 I SA-CX6.5 v2 I SAZ-1500D 15th (x2) I Zv6 12" D1 I SB500-34 I JP40 I On 5/21/2015 at 7:07 PM, boom50cal said: of course he gives no fucks. it's a ford ranger. only bad mother fuckers drive ford rangers
CleanSierra
He didn't miss the double baffle, he selected 1.5" for thickness of wood. So double walled box all around. Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.

Hmmm i might have to go back then and check my numbers, i thought you had to add 1 under the # of extra baffles to add to the 0.75 entered to get a 1.5" thick baffle. Markous
Should have added this to the OP, this is my intended design (forgot to check off the sub up box) '07 Ford Ranger - DM-608 I E700.4 I SA-CX6.5 v2 I SAZ-1500D 15th (x2) I Zv6 12" D1 I SB500-34 I JP40 I On 5/21/2015 at 7:07 PM, boom50cal said: of course he gives no fucks. it's a ford ranger. only bad mother fuckers drive ford rangers
kicker8940
With the way you have the port dimensions you will need to check sub up and port up,you can also do away with the extra baffle unless you plan on using 2.25" thickness for the baffle. Markous
If i select 1.5" in the wood thickness do even have to enter a value in the baffle thinkness box? Or would entering 1.5 in the baffle thickness give me the numbers i need?
