JNells Posted May 25, 2014 Report Posted May 25, 2014 You realize you are defeating the whole purpose of that power cell, HO alt, and big 3 upgrades by only having 1 run of 4 gauge to your amp right...? I realize it's a work in progress, but stop worrying about extra grounds or upgrading the entire setup and run at least a single run of 1/0 to your amp(s). Malibu Build Log

JNells Posted May 25, 2014 Report Posted May 25, 2014 Where are you getting your voltage reading from? Amp or battery? If it's at the amp then fix the 4 gauge (this should be done anyway, but may not be the culprit for your current voltage drop) If at the battery then double check all your grounds... From the looks of the under the hood pic, your alternator is grounded to the engine head?? If that's the case, FIND A DIFFERENT GROUND LOCATION. Even if you have a decent alt ground up top there... Relocate it to the actual engine block. (Bottom of motor) Malibu Build Log

Thanks alaskanzx5 I might just do thatI can recone a sub myself. About a year ago I took 2 12" power acoustic mofos and made one sub. I took the magnet and the motor off of one and j b welded it to the other motor and magnet. I had to wind my own voice coil so it would work. After I was done hooked up to 2 boss 5000w amps. And shattered my back and all my side windows came to this thread to recommend soundqubed and ct sounds. OP goes with soundstream. oh lawd.
