benz280se Posted March 13, 2008 Report Posted March 13, 2008 i want to know if my midbass will sound better if i build them a fiberglass enclosure or those the door work as a enclosure already?? if you leave them in the doors it would be wise to deaden the door/seal with your favorite soundproofing material, you dont have too it just sunds better; then the door acts truly as an enclosure and you dont have to build anything. from what i see most of the fiberglassed mid enclosures are for show or differing the angle for better imaging or the person has more than one set of components going in the door. my 2cents.
audiofanaticz Posted March 13, 2008 Report Posted March 13, 2008 i want to know if my midbass will sound better if i build them a fiberglass enclosure or those the door work as a enclosure already?? The door will work all right, but with a enclosure for the mids will help the speaker reproduce the sound cleaner and louder, as well as image your speakers for the best sound. If you dont feel like having a glassing project, you can always get some foam baffles that will make a tiny enclosure for the mid from crutchfield.com
