JEFFYBOI Posted March 10, 2014 Report Share Posted March 10, 2014 So im ready to just buy the SMD Distortion detector and crossover calibrator. I havnt got to see these products in action. Does anyone have a video on these being used? I always adjusted my HU to where I like it and turn up till it distorts and turn it back down a notch or 2 to find my max volume on HU and from there on I go back to the amp and set my LPF, Bass boost, and my gain last. Im not a complete dummy when it comes to tuning my system but I would like some input. I hear people say to keep your HU completely flat? Equilizer completely flat. no loudness, no DM+ no nothing? I can somewhat understand that but lets say you have your LPF at 80 Hz. It should filter out anything about 80 hz so why am I not able to put my equalizer to use for my component speakers? As far as subwoofer level on HU. All that does is amplifies the signal to the amp so is that safe to use? Not that I need it really. Also Bass boost on amp? I know this subject can get into a lot of fine details but I would like to hear some input. Not making me feel like a complete idiot would be appreciated. Am I doing this right?
