bumpn94 Posted March 12, 2014 Report Posted March 12, 2014 Okay so I am new to this site and decided to pick someone else mind a little on this problem of mine. I have 2 12in t1s and a Memphis mono amp and I had this setup in my vehicle for roughly 2-3 months and no problems. I recently took out just the subs and amp because i borrowed the vehicle to a friend. I got it back and hooked my subs and amp back up and now i am just get a constant bass note when i touch my bass control knob. There's no bass and when i go to turn the knob up both my subs go nuts then i turn it back down and it can't hear anything through my subs. I've rewired it, made sure it had a good ground, and checked for bad aux cables. Could it be my headunit? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
truthsayer Posted March 12, 2014 Report Posted March 12, 2014 First off welcome to the forum. Start narrowing down the problem. Wires, pos, ground rca cables, then head unit. But honestly sounds like it bass control knob. truthsayer
bumpn94 Posted March 12, 2014 Author Report Posted March 12, 2014 Thank you, I ran a new ground straight to the ground on the battery. Pos wire is in good condition and hooked up correctly. Rcas seem to be fine. I even tried a different pair and the same thing happened. I dident do a thing to any of the wires or rcas once removed. All stayed in the same place until I got to hooking them up. That's why its confusing me. Thanks for the reply
will77530 Posted March 12, 2014 Report Posted March 12, 2014 souns like the bass knob got pinched somewhere have you tried swapping it out or running the system with out using it
truthsayer Posted March 12, 2014 Report Posted March 12, 2014 Unhook your bass control knob and see if that fixes it. truthsayer
revoracing247 Posted March 12, 2014 Report Posted March 12, 2014 on my aq amp the bass knob went out and would make the sub go crazy everytime i touched it. had to disconnect it and throw it out lol try unhooking it and see if thats the problems like they said above ~ If it was easy, everybody would be doing it ~
bumpn94 Posted March 12, 2014 Author Report Posted March 12, 2014 Yeah I've tried but as soon as I unhook the wire from the knob the subs start doing that same thing.
revoracing247 Posted March 12, 2014 Report Posted March 12, 2014 with the car off take the wire to the knob out of the amp and then what does it do? ~ If it was easy, everybody would be doing it ~
bumpn94 Posted March 12, 2014 Author Report Posted March 12, 2014 You can mess with all the settings on the amp and turn it up and don't hear anything through the subs.
