kicker8940 Posted March 12, 2014 Report Posted March 12, 2014 Just a thought, when you unhooked the subs and amp or when you hooked them back up did you have the radio playing. I've heard when that is done it's bad for the rca connections on the amp.
bumpn94 Posted March 20, 2014 Author Report Posted March 20, 2014 My problem is behind the radio. What radio wire do I need to mess with? I unhooked everything and ran a new ground that was only 1 foot long. Ran my power wire differently so I wasent close to anything else. Unhooked the rca's and ran them across the vehicle directly and it still did it. I then pushed on my radio a little bit and the subs went crazy then stopped and played normal then back to crazy. I pulled my radio out and dident see anything out of the ordinary. Could it be a bad ground? The head unit is an older one but worked amazing before and is in great condition. Its a pioneer avh-p5700dvd touch.
bumpn94 Posted March 20, 2014 Author Report Posted March 20, 2014 kicker8940- I did not have anything playing. Everything was turned off and also the battery was out of it at that time.
n8ball2013 Posted March 20, 2014 Report Posted March 20, 2014 Just as an fyi i had my grounds to the battery in my Malibu and have them in my truck. I don't have worse drop because of it. Length of ground js not going to factor in to be perfectly honest. bumpn94 Posted March 20, 2014 Author Report Posted March 20, 2014 I dident figure it would have been the issue but I ran a new ground just in case. Not to mention I can turn my subwoofer setting on my radio to off and my subs still have that loud thump. It worked for me for a little while then they went crazy driving down the road.
bumpn94 Posted March 20, 2014 Author Report Posted March 20, 2014 Just incase someone else runs into this problem I figured it out. The HU's rcas needed to be grounded. For some reason they were grounding themselves. Thanks everyone for helping me figure this out.
