Fellow member's A pillar project

Recommended Posts

So I'm sure he won't mind(hopefully), but I just started his A-pillars tonight. Forgive the crude router work, the fiberglass will cover anything you see at this point.

Here are the frames and they are Soundqubed super tweets:

Thanks Soundqubed for these:

Hence the strange notches you see in these:

About 8 oz of resin. I didn't get the pics of just the wrapped, I wanted to get this resin setup. I mixed it HOTTT so hopefully I'll get this stuff cured quick. I did a quick mock fit and they didn't look bad at all.

The first layer of glass:

I'm happy so far, the strays will clean up quick and easy. I am optimistic that this won't need any real shaping with body filler. The goal was to have these not look clunky and big. I won't know until they are filled and primed, but I'm hopeful they turn out.

They will be covered in suede, so I wouldn't have to get them knocked down and mudded as much as normal, but you know me Kyle, it's going to happen that way. I don't know any other way to do this stuff.

Last pic before shower(I knocked it down to see what I'll be dealing with):

They look so weird with that spot knocked out for the terminals(my OCD doors not like it. Anyway, like I said, I'm off to bed and let the itch begin. Goodnight ladies
