OP, this is bad advice so don't listen to this guy. Somebody who has a lot of experience might be able to set gains close by ear, but it still wouldn't be close enough to be right. There are plenty of people here in southern CA that have a dd-1 and would be willing to help, I'm sure someone will chime in here soon. You don't know any of the op's system details. What amp, subs/speakers, electrical, head unit ect...so why give him bad advice to "set gain by ear"? If you want to set your gear by the seat of you pants then by all means go for it...but the op was obviously reaching out for some help to get his hands on a tool that will let him set his up PROPERLY. It's not cool to lead people down a road that may end up damaging their equipment.
