ChevyBoy95
I use my the bass know on my Rockford and found no distortion with my dd1 which means.... it is a gain knob. ChevyBoy95
Here is why you are getting mixed reviews.... Some amplifiers come with a GAIN knob, some with a BASS knob. The terminology is interchangeable but these amps with true bass knobs only effect bass boost which is a big no no and generally will throw your amp into clipping. An amp with a GAIN knob actually allows the manipulation of the gain on the amplifier which is ok, you set the amplifier to its max usable unclipped gain, and the knobs max will match that. Pac LC-1 are just WAY easier since all you do is wire them inline with the RCA's and you can completely cut RCA voltage or maximize it without affecting the amplifier itself. So I would be better off doing that than buying the one for my T1500? for the 20 bucks or so they are, yes, i own 3, use 1, 2 for back ups just in case. I LOVE them, and most people on this forum use them as well.
