Need SMD Help/Opinions For New Trunk Layout on Upcoming build

Recommended Posts

How about on a slope on top of each wheel well?

I may have to worry about the trunk lid hinges when closing the trunk, plus I dont know how I would secure that?

You would make an mdf shell molded to the shape of your trunk in all areas that will be visible, except instead of following the curve of the wheel well you would have a flat piece of mdf at a 45 degree angle or so

That may be beyond my wood working skills lol but thats a great idea... and would allow me to push my enclosure further back along with keep it rear fire... hmmm, I may need to pick up a nice jig and start practicing on my old scrap pieces...

now quick question.... how would I secure the amp racks to my car? would want to drill a hole thru my wheel well lol plus how would I manage wires???

the available work space sucks, the RF Amps were small and I couldn't even mount them on the seats smh... the size of the c1100.4 is like the same size as both of them put togther!

Wood would be glued together as a one piece final product, gravity a would do its thing. You could also use magnets, or dovetail cuts. Lots of ways.

Wire management will depend on how much wire you want to show or hide. To make it 100% hidden wold mean beauty panels and more space. An easier way would be o just drill holes in the wood for the wires to come up through. All depends on your preferences.

Thanks for all of your help bro!!! I really appreciate it.... I think I made a final decision and if you dont mind tell me what you think....

Instead of doing the C1100.4 and running rear fill speakers, maybe I can get either get the Sympony S550.2 or the 800.4 just to run a front stage... maybe bridge my front components if i decide the 800.4 (on CJ dyno test, it can put out 400 rms ea channel when bridged) since they're foot print amps Maybe I can fit one of the syphmony series amps and the BC2000D on the back of my box and just double baffle the back of the box and maybe run a beauty panel over the wiring? That will not only save space and allow me to coninue to rear fire, but also relieve stress on my electrical to where All I would need is a nice start up battery + my alt that we discussed in the other thread. What are your thoughts on that?

Sounds like a god plan bro.

Without changing amps, you could also mount them in a stacked formation on the back of the box. Beauty panel or even a plexi front facing covering and fans to push/pull air hidden on the sides.
