so how is this project going? it was pretty interesting seeing how truly inferior i am when it comes to really understanding home audio. But it was also a nice place to start. Anything new happeing?

I really don't have much to report on. I'm starting to look for an amp to run my subwoofer. Once I get that I might work on either a dipole or T-line setup for it.

As of right now I am still moving into my new home and just setup everything in my living room.

I would have replied earlier, but I was measuring the output of my amp with a yardstick . . .

What you hear is not the air pressure variation in itself

but what has drawn your attention

in the two streams of superimposed air pressure variations at your eardrums

I really don't have much to report on. I'm starting to look for an amp to run my subwoofer. Once I get that I might work on either a dipole or T-line setup for it.

As of right now I am still moving into my new home and just setup everything in my living room.

Yes that is what I used.

I thought so, I had it for my electronics course, haven't played around with it much.

I have just a little update finally, picked up an amp to use for my low-end.

Onkyo M-282, bought it for $125 local pickup.

This little buddy should be putting out 120W at 6-ohms and 160W or 180W (I don't remember which, but at that point it doesn't matter) at 8-ohms.

I also got a 10' x 10' rug to put in between the speakers and the listening area to help with reflections.

I also have plans on building a diffuser for the wall behind the speakers and I should be making a stop by The Home Depot this weekend to get supplies to build acoustic absorbers to really help with the reflections.

I'm thinking of putting some in the hallway, kitchen and on the ceiling.
