Foamyy Thee Squirrell
4th... The red section [ first chamber ] is a sealed section, while the second chamber is a moderately high tuned ported section [ orange ]. Same sort of mechanic going on with the rear and front chamber. So these are generally large builds? yes, due to the fact you are basically putting the sub in a sealed and ported box... so almost 1.5times the volume of a normal box. Ok that's out! I'll have to figure something out when I get the subs and stuff...
mrd6
Exactly, my 6th for 4 15s is just under 40 cubic feet net. If I were doing a regular ported wall I'd be closer to 18 net. It's a tradeoff, box volume for efficiency. My Build Log: http://www.stevemead...-sundown-power/ Team NorthWestSPL
Aj11
yea, 4ths and 6ths are usually big bigger then a normal slot vent. can someone please answer this question for me. I'm sure this will help the OP to. why is the ported section in a 4th tuned high? everyone always says that the sealed part is where your lows come from and the ported is where you get your highs. why is that? in every other application Its the exact opposite. can someone shine some light on this for me? jvc deck stinger 1800 front hc 2000 kinetic rear 2 runs of 1/0g big 3/4 ct 60.4 2 ct 1400.1 ct EXO 15 d1 lots of deadner type r comps front stage 6 kicker tweets rear stage lots of great stuff coming soon ho alt more bats ct comps for front stage more deadner sweet amp rack lots of L.E.D lights new deck (thinking 80 prs, or flip out)

I am literally going to have the cargo area of my next vehicle (which will be about the size of yours because I am looking at Jeep Cherokees) to figure out how to put 2 XL-15s because I can't lose my backseats. Aj11
that 4th with the 4 subs is really nice looking. i dig that! and the 6th with the single.sub looks huge! that's not a 12 right? jvc deck stinger 1800 front hc 2000 kinetic rear 2 runs of 1/0g big 3/4 ct 60.4 2 ct 1400.1 ct EXO 15 d1 lots of deadner type r comps front stage 6 kicker tweets rear stage lots of great stuff coming soon ho alt more bats ct comps for front stage more deadner sweet amp rack lots of L.E.D lights new deck (thinking 80 prs, or flip out)
mrd6
In something like that, a good ported design is all you really need. You'll be putting yourself through a lot of extra work trying to build a bandpass. It won't be worth the headaches in your application. Foamyy Thee Squirrell
I think the 4th order is the coolest out of those but I won't have that kind of room
