car alarm goes off after locking car. started after replacing stock battery

Ok so yesterday I helped a buddy of mine replace his stock battery with an xs power batt. he has two other batts in the trunk for his system but had the stock batt up front so we replaced it. it is a 2009 Avenger. ever since we replaced the battery when he locks the car the alarm goes off shortly after. any ideas on what could cause this?

What alarm

Hood switch? Try unplugging the switch and see if alarm still goes off. Just a guess, but it is a common problem with factory systems. Factory scan tool may be able to tell what input actually triggered the alarm.

I think he might have access to a scan tool so that would be helpful.
