DubNDodge
So my friend heard my system after one of our last finals and he really wanted a little bump. He said all he didn't want to spend bank on a system nor be "loud" like me. He said budget was $500-600. He told me to go ahead and lay out his system for him. Only downfall is that he wanted to stay stock radio so that was a twist. So I figured a single 12", needed a nice LOC and around 600w. Stuff already purchased and waiting to come in: Sub: Soundqubed HDS200 12" Amp: Audio Technix 400.1 (Now CT Sounds 500.1) Wiring kit was Audio technixs 4 GA Got the LC2i to make some low level outputs. Major thanks to walwalka to pointing out that awesome cost on the AT400.1 Almost picked one up for myself. 600w for $96 is a deal. Also pointed out the LC2i to me. MDF and charcoal carpet. With everything minus odds and ends like glue and screws total came out to be somewhere like $400. I got started on the box design right away. DubNDodge
Picked up the mdf at lowes yesterday when walwalka and I met up to tune with the cc.1. Thank goodness he was there or else loading the sheets (picked one up for myself) would of SUCKED. Got to work on the box today. Pieces cut up. Routered out the hole, DAMN did I love using my new plunge router. Took more time to set it up, (putting scrap underneath and clamping it down) than actually cutting the hole lol. Working on predrilling the trillion holes on this thing. 45 I made to keep the port the same width throughout. Took me a second to figure out how I wanted to do it. Original goal was to have a solid piece and no gap behind it. Figured this was easier. Box is all glued up. Only thing not on there is the left side. I figured that would be the easiest way to do the paint. I also went ahead and sanded down all the edges that weren't perfectly flush. Just had a thorn in my ass to do that. (before painting of course) Not a project unless you show some blood lol... The damn rip fence on the table saw wasn't sliding smoothly. So I was smacking it back and forth with the palm of my hand, with the saw off obviously, and on the back swing my hand nailed the blade. DERP.
