Need an amp... 5k and .5 ohm...

So I know people are running the Lanzar Opti's @ .5 daily but I'd really, really rather not run Lanzar.

Crescendo 3500 is a little pricey but likely what I'll end up looking for, a used one anyway.

Yes, my electrical is worthy.

Anyway, any suggestions that aren't $800? I may end up strapping my old MB Quart DSC2000.1D amps and going to 2 ohm but I would rather have the footprint of one amp. These two stacked together are pretty big.

Trying to make good use of a D1 Team 15" I picked up.

First off any 3500 isnt doing 5k. Not on 12v or without cap banks etc and even then 5k is still a lofty goal.

Well you could go

taramps and itll be pretty small and do 5k for that money

Or.. maybe a dd m4 used

Or pick up two aq 2200s. Used for around that money.

You might find an Saz 4500 used.

IMO the Crescendo is probably your best bet for .5

You could likely find a powerbass 5k for around 800 or less. or a saz5000 if you spent a lil more money like 900. Even maybe a crescendo 5500.

Even used they are going for 800+ unless dide needs them gone asap

5k being best situation, I realize that.

My MB's together are 4k @ 2ohm.

I've heard the Teams are good anywhere from 3k and higher so honestly I'm fine anywhere in the middle.

If I end up strapping I'll just use my old MB Quarts and wont spend any money, so I'm not looking to get pairs of anything new, just a single amp if I can settle for one.

I'll be wiring to .5 ohms with plenty of electrical to back it up. A BC3500 will bring me pretty close to goal.

Taramps can't run below 1 ohm without nuclear explosions so I gotta pass on them

and like i said I'm avoiding strapping just because of footprint, I already have 2 amps to strap if I go that route.

Do the Sundowns do okay at .5 ?

I may be chasing down the Crescendo after all.

Heres what I think your best option is:

You wont see anywhere close to 5k with those mb2ks at 1ohm each.

So sell them both.

200 ea is reasonable iirc. Lets say on the low end you get 300 for both. That will give your head room needed to get where you wanna be.

For 900 you can def pick up a solid 5k. All the options I mentioned will do just fine. Like you said you wanna stay away from the lanzars, popcorn sounds, I forgot what I was gonna list next.. but basically the cheaper.. high power amps. Ok thats fine.

So basically you have

Sundown

Crescendo

Dc

Dd

Etc

They all have 5k amps that can be found around 900 bucks or so. All of which will take .5

Populous audio is a newer brand, but same thing. Maybe you could get a good deal. Check ct sounds but they might be a little higher priced.

Or taramps. Get I dont remeber but buy w.e amp at 1ohm after rise will put you into w.e power range you want.. simple. I know a bunch of people running em and love em.

Its just another option, just thought id explain why I even mentioned them.

Anyway. Regardless of your electrical, 800 for 5k is lil tight. Not impossible, but tight. So either hunt for a deal keep your eyes open or sell your amps bc you wont see near 4k outta them anyway.

The MB's are easily the best amp that ever came out of Maxxsonic's build house and definitely do rated, I'm quite confident on a clean 2k each.

Honestly i didn't even consider selling them before you posted for that reason, but yeah, I should think about taking that route. It's hard being a hoarder man!

The good thing here is I'm in no rush so I don't mind hunting a deal down.

So far the three I'm looking at are going to be the Crescendo 3500/5000, SAZ 5000, or DD M4 all on the secondary market.

If I go new I think I'll do the BC3500 with certainty at this point.

Yea they'll do 2k but not after rise etc.thats why your looking for a .5 option... so at 1ohm each you wont see 2k each. Thats all im sure their good amps otherwise

doubt anyone is selling a used ct 4000.1 yet. they will do what you want. and.the 3000.1 @.5 will do pretty Close. there.only.a Lil over $800 new so i you find a used one your set.

all ct amps do great a .5
