coxy944 Posted May 24, 2014 Report Posted May 24, 2014 Hi guys I'm Jack and I'm new to the forum so will apologise if I'm posting this in the wrong section. I have had my 2 way components into my car with sound dampening on the door skins for around a month now running of deck power but I found a 2ch amp in my house so hooked that up to them instead of running it off the deck now they don't sound half as good as they used to, witch i find strange as when i amped my components in my old car the instantly came alive. Thinking about it they were on the same amp as I'm using now is there something simple I am missing here? thanks in advance

Chris Braun Posted May 30, 2014 Report Posted May 30, 2014 Ya main thing I can think of is triple check wires. Check for polarity, but if that's good, check the wire, pinches, cuts, shorting out etc. If not, check RCA's. Lastly, or firstly if you prefer, hook up another spare speaker with a different speaker wire to the amp to test. Or even a different RCA cable. Check RCA's on back of deck are in proper slot, and sometimes decks have a FRONT/REAR, REAR/REAR, or REAR/SUB setting. Last ditch effort, hook it up somewhere else (amp) and test with good known speaks/wiring.
