CLPeller
Ok opinion time guys. I think I mentioned that I want to do an 8 15 wall (if I haven't before now, well now you know) but I need some sub options. I love my D'amores, but it would be about $1600 for 4 more. Herein lies my conundrum. I can get 8 Dayton Audio Reference series for about $1150, then sell my D'amores. Only thing is, no one I know has heard them. They look identical to the D'amores have nearly (if not exactly) identical T/S parameters, and also use aluminum for the cone/dust cap. Do you think I should go for the daytons? Or do you have something else in mind that's roughly 800W rms? I've got a second 3.5K lined up, so I'll be running two of those to power everything. boom50cal
Sundown SA-15's are a solid choice. Guy down here had 4 SA-15's on a DD M3b in a 2:1 4th order... 156's and demoed ALL DAY LONG. 20-55hz. 8 15's in a 4th is doable in a crew cab 04-08, and the 09+ trucks have even more room... I don't know that I would do a 4th. Probably just a flat wall. I kind of like the idea of 8 15's staring you in the face when you open the door. lol. Also, I think if I was to go along the lines of Sundown, I would probably just end up going with some DC Lvl 2's. I'd be able to get them for cheaper I think. Trying to not spend a whole ton of cash on this rebuild (I know that's kind of hard when going with 8 15's), so that's why the Daytons were kind of in my head. Only reason i mention a 4th. Sure it's a lot of space...but fuck, 2500w, doing that kind of damage, and that musical? Hell the daytons would even work, they are HOSS subs and a half. if you are on facebook, I could tag you in SEVERAL more... https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=915157941827561 On 1/4/2013 at 9:31 PM, HatersGonnaHate said: Wow. 184 posts and I think you're a fucking asshole. CLPeller
Thoughts on 12 12's in a 4th order? There are 12 alpine type s' sitting about 10 minutes from home, unspoken for... CLPeller
Just thought I'd throw this out there, but the wall is on hold for some time. Work is getting super slow, salary cut backs and what not even. So I can't have two money pits getting worked on, and Rustbucket is my priority money pit at the moment. I figured I might as well put up some pics of what's taking my attention at the moment. CLPeller
Well, my stock alternator finally shit the bed. I knew it's been a long time coming, but still a piss off. Lol. I had bought an Excessive amperage alt a long time just never got around to installing it. And well, it's in now. For what it's worth, fuck Ford engineers and their alt placement. Not as bad as some I've heard of, but still a stupid spot. I also figured that since I had it out, I might as well add another run of power. I only took this pic of it. Also, my other project (the jeep) has catastrophically blown up in my face. Literally, my axle shaft grenaded on me while I was out on the trail. Waiting for new shafts to get here. And hopefully they last the season. Once winter hits I'm starting a 1 ton, Coilover conversion, with a rear stretch Check out my build! 4 sets CT Sounds Meso components in custom fiberglass doors, 4 D'amore Engineering AF-15's on a DC Audio 3.5K http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/187649-2011-f150-fiberglass-doors-half-wall-16000-w/

CLPeller
Wow, sorry to see that man, OUCH! flatbed or what did you do to get it out of there? A flat bed would have been nice, but I wouldn't have been able to get one to where I was. So we put a couple logs under my axle and ratchet strapped them to my rocker panels to make up a skid for it. Then hooked onto it with a 1-ton diesel and drug it out of the bush. Once we were out, my parents have a tilt deck gooseneck with a winch on it, that they brought to the trailhead. Winched it up, and drove it home on the trailer.
