help with voltage

well i installed the new regulator box (not blue one, different one from another company) and the truck will idle fine now with the battery bank sitting at 17 volts. BUT the same fucking shit happened again..... turned knob a few times with no change at all in voltage, then turn just a hair more and check again. while revving slowly it goes up to 18 then to 19 and i let off then because i was hardly pushing the pedal at all and it was already towards the max recommended voltage.....WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?!!! i'm getting pretty fed up with this crap and don't know what to do. gonna try call mechman tomorrow since last time the calls weren't going through. i find it amusing how i can spend over two grand with them and they don't even have the decency to return ONE email over a two week time frame. fucking shitty customer service, when i emailed them in the past about buying my second regulator box from them i got a response that same day! apparently a customers vehicle not running properly is not important enough to take 5 minutes out of their day to answer a email that could possibly solve my problem. fucking weak customer service...end of rant. on another note, anybody got any suggestions
