Bolts for plexi window?

Recommended Posts

I was thinking going with some Socket Hex Bolts, but what are yall guy's suggestions? BTW, its a 14x14 window, going to use 4 on each side, sooo

Must be, no bigger than 1/4 but smaller the better bolt, and must be atleast 2inches long.

If you use bolts I would use pretty good size washers, if not I could see the plexi cracking where you tighten the bolts down. You have any pics of the box? I'm thinking about building a windowed box soon and some inspiration would be great.

I just did a box with a window, I used 10-32 socket head cap screws with button heads. Since these have a larger head I didn't use washers. This is where I got them: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005DS8EPW/ref=oh_details_o00_s01_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I used 1-1/2" bolts, but you should be able to get 2" ones as well.

This is how my window turned out:

thats the box, reason I need 2in is because the front back baffle is 3/4 and so is the plexi. subs up btw lol. not doing kicker as everyone thinks.

and the inside is painted a "stone grey" it has white and black splatter, but phone didnt pick it up

Looks good, I like the stone finish on the inside.

Slightly OT: how do you like using the Kreg jig for box building? I just got one and I'm curious to how it will work out.

I like it.. Takes more time, but looks cleaner and no cracking at all.. Pretty strong for what it is too.

None of my boxes have ever broke using the jigg.

I got mine from estreetplastics.com My local place wanted $180 for a 12" x 36" piece of 3/4" acrylic. Esteetplastics was only $75 shipped.
