808faka Posted June 2, 2014 Report Posted June 2, 2014 sup everybody. having some problems with hissing noise coming from 1 channel on my brand new sundown 125.4. my tweeters are hooked up to that channel and make a fairly loud hissing noise, louder then the other tweeters and distort when the other tweeters are just fine. pretty sure its the amplifier because i tried everything else that i could think of. anybody have this problem before and can confirm my assumptions that its one faulty channel. thanks
808faka Posted June 2, 2014 Author Report Posted June 2, 2014 nope tried different one completely even tried grounding all the rcas
808faka Posted June 2, 2014 Author Report Posted June 2, 2014 cant be rcas i unplugged them all and the tweeters were still hissing.
Clayton Hartweg Posted June 2, 2014 Report Posted June 2, 2014 cant be rcas i unplugged them all and the tweeters were still hissing. are the tweeters amped somtimes if the gain is set to high they will hissss
Fatalblue Posted June 2, 2014 Report Posted June 2, 2014 if you ran your power wires and rca's in the same route it sometimes creates a noise "ground loop" you can buy an isolator "PAC SNI1" to dampen the noise or rerun your rca's in a different route. although if you have a weak set of rca's that can also be a problem. might want to buy a higher end set.

truthsayer Posted June 2, 2014 Report Posted June 2, 2014 Your gains are to high or you have a grounding issue somewhere. truthsayer
808faka Posted June 2, 2014 Author Report Posted June 2, 2014 Your gains are to high or you have a grounding issue somewhere. i have my tweeters on channels 3 and 4 and the gain controls both, if my gain is too high wouldnt my other channel tweeters be hissing as well? because they didnt have any noise coming from them. also grounding issue you mean the actual ground wire to the amp? because the power and ground wires are less then 12 inches coming straight from a 16v battery bank.
808faka Posted June 3, 2014 Author Report Posted June 3, 2014 anybody else care to chime in? just trying to see what else it could be. already emailed sundown and dbr to see if they know whats going on.
