Voltage is an issue?

So I put my old system back in my car until the new one comes up. Well I wired everything back and got a better ground. Now my headlights dim and my battery reads 13.8 - 13.9 at idle and goes down to 12.9. After I ran it again, I reved 2000 rpm and went from 13.9 to 13.3. The big 3 has not been done and I can't upgrade the alternator right now. Should I just turn the amp down? Do you notice anything else I haven't mentiond?

Do the big 3 ASAP...

Prob a cheap volt meter giving you bad read outs. The lights on cars are 12v. So when they go below 12v they dim. Meaning your not 13.9 like you think.

Do the big 3 ASAP...

Prob a cheap volt meter giving you bad read outs. The lights on cars are 12v. So when they go below 12v they dim. Meaning your not 13.9 like you think.

when you have any voltage drop, your lights will dim not just below 12volts

OP if you hold 12.9 you are fine. no worries.

do the big 3 and i bet you will have increased performance.

I see what you are saying. I checked with a volt meter. Rear battery is 13.8 while front battery will read 13.6.
