REH Posted June 22, 2014 Report Posted June 22, 2014 What speakers and subs do you have? Do you have a real 3.5k amp that you're unsatisfied with, or do you have a Boss "3.5k". Do you have the electrical to support 7k, or even a real 3.5k? Your post is so vague. Regardless if it's a boss or not, the load he wants to aim for with strapped amps won't happen with the subs he got. He doesn't need to list his equipment to get his question answered. He's not asking what power the amp is making. His entire reason for wanting to double power is because he doesn't think that his amp is supplying enough to feed his subs to their potential. So if he had a weak amp that didn't do near claimed as advertised, there would be no reason to strap them instead of going with one that would do rated power.

Ok, so could he strap two bosses if his car could support 7k rms?
Ahmed Johnson Posted June 22, 2014 Report Posted June 22, 2014 Also, this post was about whether his subs could be strapped, not if his amp puts out real power.

Do you have the electrical to support 7k, or even a real 3.5k? Your post is so vague. the wattage is real wattage:) and yes my electrical is good for 3.5k rearly below 13,9v on full so i think 1 more battery and it can handle 7k Couldn't read the page you linked, but you never know. A lot of people come in here and very low end amps with the thinking that they're putting out true power. But honestly, if the 3.5k isn't enough for you I would go with Miguels advice and upgrade to a single larger amp also. Simplicity is nice.
Miguels Posted June 22, 2014 Report Posted June 22, 2014 i think 7k is too much for those subs.. sell the 3.5k and get the 5k they have my logshttp://www.stevemead...-my-new-set-up/my blow through loghttp://www.stevemead...future-updates/ 96 ss http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/164094-96-impala-ss-build/
REH Posted June 22, 2014 Report Posted June 22, 2014 Also, this post was about whether his subs could be strapped, not if his amp puts out real power. You're clearly missing the point. His reason for the thread is that he wanted more power, period. So, finding out if he had a quality amp instead of junk equipment is a pretty reasonable question. He could be looking for 3.5k/7.0k, when in reality he may have been using an amp to begin with that put out nowhere near that, and adding another sub-par amp strapped wouldn't be ideal. Upgrading to one that does rated would. You can quote and try to argue it all you want, but it all comes down to him wanting more power to drive the woofers.
Miguels Posted June 22, 2014 Report Posted June 22, 2014 those amps look solid. my logshttp://www.stevemead...-my-new-set-up/my blow through loghttp://www.stevemead...future-updates/ 96 ss http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/164094-96-impala-ss-build/
REH Posted June 23, 2014 Report Posted June 23, 2014 OP. Off topic a bit but while you're here, if you're planning to stick around you should start a vehicle thread. The equipment you've posted looks to be pretty nice stuff, but it's nothing that most of us here are used to seeing. Maybe if you get some time you could post up some pictures and videos of what you're working with.

Ahmed Johnson Posted June 23, 2014 Report Posted June 23, 2014 those amps look solid. I was thinking the same thing.
