What size of ring terminal for fuse holder bolt?

Recommended Posts

I cannot find what size of ring terminal I will need, I have 8awg wire right now for power but I just bought 4awg for my new amp and need to buy ring terminals. I bought http://www.ebay.com/itm/190868076167?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649 these and there where slightly to small so I don't want to buy the wrong ones again. Please help like always SMD

Personally I like to buy lugs with a small hole. 1/4" and use a stepped drill bit to drill it out as per the application. Perfect fit every time!

That is kinda what I did. All though I did it a redneck way... used the end of a file. I just really don't want to do that again.

It's a very cheap bit. But most lugs are fairly soft, and for how much use it will see, should work fine for your needs.

Just remember to set your drill chuck to some sort of ratchet setting so if the bit binds, it won't torque the lug over with it

I have something like that out in the garage sure it will work, so I'm just going to order some 4awg terminals now.

These are the lugs I use

Can be either soldered or crimped, depending on your style. And I like them much better than the cheapo brass ones. They're a bit more expensive, but not by much.

How would you solder these?
