Cj Kumz Posted July 2, 2014 Report Posted July 2, 2014 Ok my mate is running a sundown saz 1500d amp @ 1 ohm with an 80 amp fuse. I am surprised he has never blown his use up to now lol. Question: For his fuse not to have blown does this mean he is not running full 1500 rms. Cause to my understanding he should have a 150 amp fuse I think. biscuitownz Posted July 2, 2014 Report Posted July 2, 2014 Look up time delay fuses time delay fuse: A fuse that does not break the circuit during the momentary overload that can happen when an electric motor starts up. If the overload continues, the fuse blows, shutting off the circuit. Music is not a single constant sine wave, it changes and so will the power usage.

So it could be that he is pulling over the fuse limit but not constant current. Sutliff Posted July 2, 2014 Report Posted July 2, 2014 Then I do not know what time-delay fuses have to do with your OP. Cj Kumz Posted July 2, 2014 Author Report Posted July 2, 2014 Those external fuses do not have time-delay?? I think he meant it doesn't blow cause of that?? Vw Polo Pioneer Deh-6050UB Sundown Saz-3500d DD Audio 9500 15'' 5.5 cubic feet box with 10 inch port @ 38hz I live to hear the Bass drop!!!
Sutliff Posted July 2, 2014 Report Posted July 2, 2014 No, ... the straight blow when the current exceeds their rating - a split-second. No different than the little, dual-bladed fuses that essentially run everything in your car these days ... besides relays. Cj Kumz Posted July 2, 2014 Author Report Posted July 2, 2014 That's what I thought too. So in my OP it means my mates amp has never drawn over 80 amps right? and that is why the fuse has never blown. So it could be that the electrical isn't supplying enough current, am I right??
