I am going to be the usual buzzkill, ... but why? I will ask this, does the 900cc's not give you enough? I mean, I know there are upgrade paths you can do on just it as a N/A engine that will give an impressive performance boost from exhaust to - I do believe - actually giving it a tune. I have not followed the whole deal, except the audio deal in it, but putting a sick suspension & tires, etc., on it to make it handle & carve up the corners will alone make it feel like it is on rails & just that much faster out of the turns when you can carry that much more speed in, then out of them. I dunno, ... just the normal Forum buzzkill guy. Thanks for the input, Buzz Killington. LMAO My pleasure, Sir.

Yup ... back in the early-90's I did that to ... Racing Team Associated RC 10L's on the carpet on 6-cell, 1400 & 1700mah personally-matched packs ... My Pop would buy me 20-30 cells & I'd go through them matching & making the packs & I once did not realize that the big heatshrink sleeves the BATTs went in I heated up too much & it split on the side & when I put it in my metal tote track tool box, all Hell broke loose. It damn near welded itself to the drawer I put it in ... I had to grab a rag to open the drawer cuz it was too hot to grab with my hand. The whole box had a little bit of heat that you could feel on it. I was 15 or 16, ... been overly-careful ever since.

Maybe this came about because of Sonic's involvement (having a "booth") recently in a high profile car audio competitions/shows recently? (Slamology, I think ...) Maybe some plans were already in motion, but getting out there & pressing the flesh with manufacturers & the end-users certainly had to help solidify their decision. Here's to more, as AudioFanaticz calls it "underground", & I often call "boutique" brands showing up on Sonic, & some of the other somewhat popular places!

Good deal! My Pop will helped me on the whole build, & still helps me tinker, etc., but he will not even ride in either in my vehicles with systems in them if the bass is on, ... let alone any type of music for that matter. If he could go out & buy a new car today with a factory radio delete, that is the one he would get ... He's just silly.

Make sure to put some earplugs in ... 1,000Hz Test Tone at max (clip/distortion/etc.) is brutal, & 40Hz, for the constant period of time you'll likely be fiddling around, will become very annoying ... If not to you, then to others around the vehicle. -
Ouch, ... but nice combo.

Good afternoon, Folks ... I am sure this is oft-asked, ... but with these AGM batteries, XS' D975 offering in particular, when mounting in trunk, or any enclosed space for that matter, are vapors, fumes, etc., to be worried about? Or should I scheme up some sort of vent system of either a fan or filter, or both, ... or are AGM's different from Flooded BATTs in this regard, & obviously many others? (I would not be asking this if I have not read somewhere - maybe when I first purchased my D3400, that it was OK to mount these in many wacky positions ... just NOT upside-down ... & that AGM's nearly give off no toxic-ness. ... & if so, which way does any of the "offending" gasses escape? Up? Heavier than air so they lay low? As per my install, I am mounting said BATT terminal side up ... as I, & most would, describe as 'normal' orientation. Ready to mount BATT right now, but need to know if I should be fabbin' something first. Thank you ...

I have a D3400 under the hood, & am going to be getting either a D925 or 975 as a reserve in the trunk to run my stereo. I look FWD to others' input as well ... -
smd dd-1 car running or off?
Sutliff replied to tbeats's topic in SMD Distortion Detector (DD-1) Topics
The manual does not say, ...which is why I said it does not matter. Dicking around last summer, I adjusted my two RF Power amps, & I cannot even begin to explain how tiny a difference there was between the same tracks & same H/U volume levels, etc. If I had to put a number to what the differences were ... it was less than HALF of one number. If it was a 3 OFF, then it started tickling the distortion LED just shy of 3.5. I will just end this with stating that this was MY experience with the DD-1 that I had, & the system & set-up(s) I had. Your experiences may differ. -
