I guess it is a matter of personal preference.

Caps are only good as long as your alternator can charge them.

So in his case it may be worth it.

During bass hits the cap is sucked dry, the alternator then has to recharge the cap as well as supply the amp with the current it demands.

I personally would just stick with a H/O alternator and be done with it.

Maybe add a second battery if needed.

ive noticed caps are all good untill you get near 3000rms that TRUE rms lol

but the lil power cells work great so im told

Have you ever had your woofers blown?

ive had problems with caps useing high wattage..... the cap and the batt drain leaving your alt pulling even more current making your problem bigger as it charges both the bat and the cap while the audio amp(s) pull the power faster than they can charge

low volts with high current draw = fire!

ohh I totally know about caps, I just wanted him to explain why and not just post NO.

Besides he's not running a high wattage system IMO with a 200a alt he should be more than fine.

that bat cap is almost the same thing as The Cap Killer but a diff brand, i've thought about that, and it fits into my plan. that looks good, its like a mini battery, isn't it?

I prefer the Kinetik brand batteries, i have a HO 200amp alt with 2 HC2000 and a 5 farad Stinger pro cap for the system and a HC2400 for the truck battery. No major voltage issues running a little over 3000rms to 8 12" woofers
