Problems with HU cutting off.

Having problems with my head unit, It's a Kenwood DDX318.

Lately, the head unit won't allow me to turn the volume up without cutting off and power cycling.

or worse sometimes it just refuses to turn back on period.

I ran new wires for everything so i'm not using a single factory wire from the old head unit.

I have my Red (Ignition Wire) & Yellow (Battery Wire) connected together directly to the battery.

Also, have the Ground & Light Green (Parking Sensor Wire) connected together to allow for video playback when driving.

Then all that's left is the 4 sets of wires for speakers an remote wire for my sub amp.

If i disconnect all 4 speakers only leaving the pre-out connected for the sub the radio will not shut off at any volume. but whenever i connect even one interior speaker the radio will cut off and sometimes refuse to turn back on. Or it will act crazy and the power light will flicker fast and keep restarting.

any help?

Here's the diargram from the manual.

You either have a short somewhere ( in your speaker wire runs), or your HU's internal amp is getting to hot and shutting itself down.

I don't think its a heat issue, i haven't drove since yesterday an I could turn it on right now and it'll shut off as soon as i turn it up. i've also tried testing each speaker by hooking them up one at a time, doesnt matter what speaker it still cuts off. I'm thinking my ground is going bad or the HU is dying.

Speaker wire is pinched somewere, usually between the front doors. check the speaker cable going to each of your 4 speakers from the headunit for any cuts, breaks ect

Hopefully you are temp installing the radio at the moment just to test it out, because your radio would be on the whole time with the batt and ign wires connected together. You know they make adapters now which plugs into your factory harness? I would use a relay for your parking brake wire or put a switch on it. Thats probably where all your problems are coming from. If not then there is a short somewhere in your door speakers.

get a AAA battery and test each speaker behind the headunit, connect pos to pos or neg on the battery and the neg to the other side of the batt, this will make the speaker give a small pop (great way to find out front, left, rear, right) each speaker should make the same pop sound. you'll prob find one dosnt pop at all or is really quiet. that will be the speaker wire that has issies.
