@Tripleb451
While working on my build yesterday a question came up that I couldn't answer. The question was "what's the visible difference between the DC subwoofer levels? I had no answer because I didn't know. Does anyone know the visible difference in these subs? Also how do you know what version of the coils the subs have visibly? To clarify this is not a question of handling power or sound, but simply put visible differences. Thanks guys. Broke_Audio_Addict
I suppose going on the dc website and looking at the pics was to complicated. As far as telling the coils apart do you mean like a d2 from a d1 or what? If that's the case by visual I doubt it just use a multi meter. That being said a lot of people's definition of "music" is a clipped 30 hz sine wave with some 80 IQ knuckle head grunting about committing crimes and his genitals. @Tripleb451
No I believe my question was. I was asking could you look at one sub level in person and know which level it was just by looking? Also yes d1 or d2 visible difference. Krakin
You can get a good idea from looking at their website the physical differences, but as to coil configuration you won't be able to tell. Krakin's Home Dipole Project http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/186153-krakins-dipole-project-new-reciever-in-rockford-science/#entry2772370 Krakin, are you some sort of mad scientist? I would have replied earlier, but I was measuring the output of my amp with a yardstick . . . What you hear is not the air pressure variation in itself but what has drawn your attention in the two streams of superimposed air pressure variations at your eardrums An acoustic event has dimensions of Time, Tone, Loudness and Space Everyone learns to render the 3-dimensional localization of sound based on the individual shape of their ears, thus no formula can achieve a definite effect for every listener.
