amp rack mounting??

Hey everyone...

im getting ready to install a system in a buddys car.. I'd like to mount the amps to a flat panel in the trunk like in this link.

But my question is how do i accomplish that?? Meaning..

1- How do i mount it?

2- How do i make it removable to get to wires & ect. behind it?

3- No L brackets that are visible( bolt or nut heads are fine)

4- Any pics of ideas Would be greatly appreaciated..

BTW, the amps are just some Autotek Mean machine series amps, so it's nothing huge..

Look into some T-nuts.

You could build a platform on the bottom to stabilize it then some type of latch in the top to keep it upright. I would run all wires behind the wood to the point where they go into the amp. The best way to make it look nice is don't leave it wood, wrap it or at lead paint it. Also if you have to have wires exposed then cover them in some tech flex anor match colors.

In wat way should i use them? I know their purpose, but how can i use them to mount? how would i attach the wood bracket with Tnuts to the car?

could you elaborate on the platform idea at all? and i really wouldnt want an ugly latch visible.. as for the covering, it will matched carpet..

yea, sry.. i should clear that up..

I need a way to mount the actual amp rack to the vehicle. it will be flush like in the picture i posted earlier..

What do you have to work with behind the lining of the trunk? If there's something to maybe mount a block of wood to you could use it to shoot screws into. That would support the amp board.

I tell you what I'd do is make like a window frame out of some sturdy wood to go behind it and bolt that in with some L brackets. Instead of carpeting it layer it with velcro and then use velcro on the back side of another board to which the amps mount with holes to run your wires through. Build up a good frame with enough surface area and velcro will hold a board on top of a board really solid, that way you have no screws, hinges, or anything showing on the outer piece.

the only thing behind where the amp rack will go is the molded trunk carpet then the sheet metal of the body..

That sounds like a good idea.. i guess ill just shoot some sheet metal screws thru the trunk floor for the L brackets..

ill be hopefully installing this weekend, so ill post pics of what i come up with..
