LoganOates Posted August 7, 2014 Report Posted August 7, 2014 I have 2 Kenwood KFC-XW1224D's wired to 2 ohms. Plus a SoundStream DTR1.900D. I was reading online about setting the gain with a DMM and wanted to give it a try. The equation I was told to use was V = (Square Root) of Power x Resistance Can anyone help me out with which Power should I use? And which resistance? I read somewhere that the power was the channel power and the resistance was the normal resistance (without wiring) I was doing v = 600 x 2 and getting 34. Plus I did v = 900 x 4 and got 60. But when I went out there to test at 50hrz I turned my gain all the way up and was only getting 25v. Any Input Would Help
truthsayer Posted August 7, 2014 Report Posted August 7, 2014 Not the best way to set gains, but if you have to do it that way. That amp is only rated for 600 watts rms at 2 0hms. So if your luck 500 rms. therefore it would be 22 volts. But try to find someone with a dd-1 and do it correctly. truthsayer
