Ritch40 Posted August 17, 2014 Report Posted August 17, 2014 operating under those assumptions is a very good way to either kill equipment or have poor sound quality. as joe x mentioned in order to properly design something the new t/s parameters are needed. those parameters changed when the subs mechanics were rebuild to different specs.
REH Posted August 17, 2014 Report Posted August 17, 2014 it might could use a little more airspace since I'm putting more watts to them Actually, it would work in reverse of that. Overpowering, you would want to reduce the volume. But like everyone else said, still too much power for the equipment.
Tyler x 22 Posted August 18, 2014 Author Report Posted August 18, 2014 Yea I understand wat y'all are saying. Would a simple sealed box be safe?
Ritch40 Posted August 18, 2014 Report Posted August 18, 2014 even to design a proper sealed box you still need the subs current t/s parameters for all any of us know those subs could no longer work properly in a sealed enclosure. not trying to be buzz kill here. i just would rather be honest and help you find the right road
Tyler x 22 Posted August 18, 2014 Author Report Posted August 18, 2014 What exactly is the t/s peremitters if u don't mind me asking? And no you arnt being a buzzkill I don't mind taking advice from those who kn
Tyler x 22 Posted August 18, 2014 Author Report Posted August 18, 2014 Know a lot more about all this than I.
Tyler x 22 Posted August 18, 2014 Author Report Posted August 18, 2014 I just talked to the guy who built them he said the t/s perimeters should be the same and he said the box design should be diff than a design for a regular sa 12 these are just built to hold more power
Tyler x 22 Posted August 18, 2014 Author Report Posted August 18, 2014 Should not be different I meant to say
Joe X Posted August 18, 2014 Report Posted August 18, 2014 So here is a suggestion for 3 SA-12s, power: to sub(s) rated, amp subsonic filter to 28Hz, minimum port clearance 5 5/8", figure is just an assembly guide: Had to go above your max dims, if any changes are needed, let me know, bear in mind a few things, your subs are different than sa-12s. 0.67 ohms is a risky load for your amp.
Tyler x 22 Posted August 18, 2014 Author Report Posted August 18, 2014 Yea I wasn't planning on turning my amp wide open just about 2/3 3/4 and my kicker amp doesn't have a subsonic filter ima need to get an equalizer to get a subsonic filter
