philrab Posted August 20, 2014 Report Posted August 20, 2014 The questions you should ask, at least in my mind, are: 1. Material? Make damned sure it's 3/4" MDF or Birch. Some idiots will try to pass off plywood. ... There is nothing wrong with plywood, it just depends on what kind it is. The right plywood is better than MDF in almost every single way except price. Key word, right. Just pointing out to the OP if they knock this box together out of particle board or cheap ass 1/4" plywood, he's gonna have issues. Not trying to get into a debate over what kind of wood is the best. 2015 Toyota Tacoma Build Thread 2007 Mazda 3; 5000K HID's, Kenwood Excelon KDC-X997, Infinity Reference 6.5 comps in front and coaxials in the rear doors, JL 320.4 four channel, Rab Designs built ported enclosure with an SA12, Kenwood monoblock, Redline Leater shift boot/e-brake boot/center console cover, JBR short shifter/shifter bushings/rear motor mount. Not trying to get into a debate over what kind of wood is the best. No worries. Its just a pet peeve of mine when people use generalizations to talk about something in either a positive or negative light. People who are less informed latch on to that kind of stuff and then will forever have a misconception about it.
