EDH
Hello,I would like someone to take a look at my design for a burp box i'm planning to build.I'm aiming for 5.25 cu ft net with about 112 sq inch of port, tuned to around 38hz (car peaks at 43hz).The thing that's bothering me is the port, i dont know if i can build it that way and still get the right tuning. The sub is a SQ HDC3 18" D2 Copper Coil and will be powered by a Lw-Audio 1.4500 for burps. Current setup DD Z318 Extra Stiff, Kevlar cone, Double top plate x2 Banda Viking 10k x2 5 Banks of Maxwell 2.85v 3400F caps Build log Termpro Profile
White Lightning
If just for burps ... I'd tune no lower than 56 htz. Higher if possible. Just saying Kenwood / HELIX / Linear Power (For The Love Of Music) / Brutal Sounds / OverKill Electric Co Questions About Sound Quality ?? Try Here ... Sound Quality, What does it REALLY mean ?? EDH
If just for burps ... I'd tune no lower than 56 htz. Higher if possible. Just saying I have seen some nice results with a box tuned at 38hz in the past. With my last box(6.2cu ft net and 96 sq inch of port@38hz) my top score is 147.3db sealed on the dash, on 815VA clamped. I talked to another competitor and he told me that i would gain from a smaller box due to my large impedance rise.(Rising from 1 ohm to 3.7ohm) I currently run a B2 Audio Mono MK3 and i think more power could only do good.
