d-nice88 Posted September 16, 2014 Report Posted September 16, 2014 I have a mechman 250 amp alt and I have a standar tyc 140 amp alt and i was wondering if anyone knew where to get a dual alt bracket for a 98 buick lesabre???
d-nice88 Posted September 18, 2014 Author Report Posted September 18, 2014 Im ultimately trying to get the best voltage I can get. I have a xs d3400 big 3 upgrade and mechman 250 amp alt under the hood. 2 re audio se x dual 2 ohm 15's kicker cx 1200.1(sub amp ) lanzar mnx mini 460 (for the door speakers) and a nvx true 10 farad cap/distro block in the trunk. All 0 gauge sky high audio wire from atl to batt and batt to amps/cap and when I crank up the vol I get some dimming so I was thinking about getting a duralast platnium batt for under the hood and put the d3400 in the trunk and possibly put my standard tyc 140 amp alt in with my mechman one just cant find a dual bracket for my car
rocking.that.eclipse Posted September 18, 2014 Report Posted September 18, 2014 prolly not gonna have anyone that makes a direct dual alt bracket. Best bet is to make one yourself. I know its gonna be not what you want to hear but best bet is to ditch ac unit and make a bracket to put the other alt there if you want a second alt on your car
Facekicker Posted September 18, 2014 Report Posted September 18, 2014 3800 Series V6? Yeah I've been on a dual alt hunt for about a year. I'm ready to fund some R&D through a local fab shop for a cookie cutter solution I can pitch licensing to the aftermarket companies with. All you're going to find at this point is one off, custom fab brackets, that are far from optimal. I can tell you that the best you can do w/o a second alt is the Mechman 320 S-Series and plenty of battery/cabling. 2002 Monte Carlo Started a build log Fi, DC, Mechman, XS Power

You're then faced with fabbing or finding someone to fab a custom one-off bracket as there are no templates or existing designs out there you can duplicate easily. (My plans are to come up with one and market it.) Here's a Skar vehicle where they welded the front passenger motor mount solid, which is another option. I considered it, but after a talk with my father who is a lifelong mechanic, I felt stupid for even the thought. http://montecarloforum.com/forum/engine-transmission-performance-adders-12/dual-alternators-complete-44592/ 2002 Monte Carlo Started a build log Fi, DC, Mechman, XS Power
