philrab
thanks bud. Didn't realize that it would still have some output. i understand its not a volume dial. Ill try my dd1 again, i think some settings on my head unit are interfering with the dd1 Like I said before, my JL amp is the same way. On the DD1, follow the directions step by step and verbatim. Make sure EVERYTHING at the source unit is set per the instructions. Skipping a step here is just asking for trouble (to this day, I still bust out the instructions and use it like a check list, just to make sure I don't forget anything. The one time I didn't, I goofed something up and had to redo it.) Also, 2 or 4V preouts on that head unit? If 2V that could be why you're turning the gain up so high without distortion (unlikely, but possible.) 2015 Toyota Tacoma Build Thread 2007 Mazda 3; 5000K HID's, Kenwood Excelon KDC-X997, Infinity Reference 6.5 comps in front and coaxials in the rear doors, JL 320.4 four channel, Rab Designs built ported enclosure with an SA12, Kenwood monoblock, Redline Leater shift boot/e-brake boot/center console cover, JBR short shifter/shifter bushings/rear motor mount. truedef
Ok So I set my gains properly with the DD1. Can't beleive this is what the JL1200 outputs on the JL W7 13.5 v3 It sounds great, SQ is awesome. Just need to get it out of the sealed box and into a ported box. Maybe even through my W7 12 in there also.
philrab
Before I got a JL amp, I thought they were pure hype. Now that I run one, I still say there are plenty good amps out there for less money but JL does sound freaking clean. Seeing as I got mine used at 1/3 the original cost, I'm plenty happy. 2015 Toyota Tacoma Build Thread 2007 Mazda 3; 5000K HID's, Kenwood Excelon KDC-X997, Infinity Reference 6.5 comps in front and coaxials in the rear doors, JL 320.4 four channel, Rab Designs built ported enclosure with an SA12, Kenwood monoblock, Redline Leater shift boot/e-brake boot/center console cover, JBR short shifter/shifter bushings/rear motor mount.
