d-nice88 Posted September 30, 2014 Report Posted September 30, 2014 Ok so im trying to add some good mid bass and better highs and I was wondering how I would install the components because I currently have coaxials. I wanted to get the crescendo pwx 6.5 or the skar pro audio 6.5 with some american bass super tweets and I was wondering if I had to buy passive crossovers for them or what? Sorry for sounding like a dummy
SIDE SHOW Posted September 30, 2014 Report Posted September 30, 2014 do a search on how to setup an active front stage... personally if you have to ask i'd suggest getting a set of splits that comes with the mid/tweeter/crossover x2 all in a pack.
d-nice88 Posted October 1, 2014 Author Report Posted October 1, 2014 So buy some a component set already insted of putting one together myself?
csermonet47 Posted October 1, 2014 Report Posted October 1, 2014 If you want to build your own component set, you have to have either a source unit capable of running an active sound stage, or a sound processor. And setting it up is a whole other beast in itself. Use the search button. Like said before, I would get some regular components that come with a passive crossover, especially if you only have experience with coaxials.
SIDE SHOW Posted October 1, 2014 Report Posted October 1, 2014 yep.... component set will come with 2x tweets, 2x mids and two crossovers. so you can run them straight from a headunit without needing amps or upgrading your headunit. running active take a lot more understanding of audio in general
d-nice88 Posted October 1, 2014 Author Report Posted October 1, 2014 I have a kenwood hu and clarion eq74s with a 4 channle amp a lanzar mnx 460
SIDE SHOW Posted October 1, 2014 Report Posted October 1, 2014 do you have bandpass on the crossover or amp?

SIDE SHOW Posted October 1, 2014 Report Posted October 1, 2014 So can you set hpf for the tweets and bandpass for the mids hpf 80 and lpf from what ever the tweets freq start at?
