Cant Decide How I Want To Do My Wall...help!

in the mini cooper....the floor is leveled off, and ive cut out the bottom piece. the bottom baffle isnt going to change in size reguardless what wall i do (classic ported wall, sealed/ported clam shell, etc)

now my question is, since i WANT to do a clam, but not sure if i have the airspace yet for one...should i start cutting the sides, top, and back? those sizes shouldnt change either with whatever box i choose to do.

i wont actually assemble anything, just cut the sides/top/back (bottom already cut) and mock it up and see what i have (then i can get a drawing in sketch-up)

reason is, my headliner curves alot on the sides, and the sides and top are going to be all werid kinds of angles, and its almost impossible to measure and write down to draw something up in sketch-up. im in the process of using card board to fit to the contours of my headliner/the side pieces, then i can trace them in wood and get the side baffles cut out.

basically what im asking you guys is-

should i do that, and wait on the front baffle/port? IF i run ported, its gonna be built off of the front baffle, if i do a clam, the sides and top arent gonna change,, ill just cut the 2 pieces for the clam, or if i do a classic wall, ill just cut a big front baffle, and the port to go with it.

ideas? i dont want to start this yet, then have to redo it.

i have to get home depot to order some more birch for me, they are out :(

see if you can do like 10-16 8"s in there lol or do alot od 10s, then you can post the mini in the GP section. that would be cool to see alot of 8s.

what size subs are you wanting to fit? 12's could possible work for a clamshell, but I dont think 15's, or 18's will, and yes in theory the top and bottom should not change in size as long as you know how far forward, and how far back you want the wall to go.

I'd say go ahead and build the box and then go from there,as long as the outer shell wont change in size.Doing a clam shell with 8's like loudblazer stated you wont need a bunch of air space.I will try to dig up pics of my build i had in the focus with all the 8's if i have some.I know the minis are small just of the top of my head im willing to bet you can fit 16 8's in a clam shell.

I didn't think 8's sounded like a good idea at first, but after seeing the pics I say to a shit-ton of 8's in there. that would be sick.
