Polar-bass
Time for a small update again. I have managed to get some more small progress. Shell seen from the side. Baffle layout, the port will be above this, so no need to cut it out from this sheet. Second layer of roof pushed into place by force. Tigh fit. Have started laying some fibreglass filler. corners on the back wall will be rounded over using PVC pipe and fibreglassed on top of that.
zrkie
Subs also look close to Spl Dynamics 300d2 , which come at around 520USB (listing some 650USD, tho). Great value for money. http://spldynamics.fi/products/subwoofers/SPL-series/spl-300d2-e.html Build looks awesome Don't like sharing your knowledge? Welll.. Polar-bass
Thanx zrkie. A fellow Scandinavian! Yep, they aren't too different from SPL dynamics that is true, I did consider that brand. But I got a Finnish friend to check their prices if bought in Finland, even there they were a bit more expensive, remember I am using 8 woofers. Anyway thanks for checking out the build. I'm going out to cut som holes in some baffles, what a job!
db_step
Tuned in! This build is going to be very intresting. Use spl dynamics d1 12" myself and they seem to look almost the same as your lib. I live for music!
Polar-bass
Things are moving forward. I used a quarter of a PVC pipe cut lengthwise to round of some inner corners in order to help guide the airflow into the port. The plastic is just held in place with glue before getting glassed over. A little bit of aerodynamic thinking can't hurt. All joints are glassed over, And the entire inside recieved a good couple of layers of resin as well. Then I did a couple of layers of fibreglass mat on top of the rounded corners. First layer of glossy white paint. Yes I know it's just a shell so far. Not too exciting really. Polar-bass
Allright I have gotten a whole lot of work done. The entire baffle was coated in resin. 2x3" wood for side to side bracing. I ran the speaker wire along underneath that brace. It worked out well and I was glad I did it since eight DVC woofers means a whole lot of wiring to be done. Also got the port in place. It is 4,4cm thick as I intended it to have a bracing function as well. Yes, the port has some funny angles which makes it a bit tricky to say the least. However I just didnt have space for a normal port at the side. Started working with fibreglass filler. What a joy.
Polar-bass
The backside. Still a lot of work to do in that area. Wiring for two amps in Ran into some obstacles when installing woofers. But I GOT THEM ALL IN!
