BudgetSystem2017 Posted October 13, 2014 Report Posted October 13, 2014 Im 16 and have messed with small setups for awhile . Ive had a single sub in my ext cab for about a year and now im going big. Well big for a half broke kid. Now ive got 2 of the HFX budget subs and im about to install 2 more. Ive removed my back seat and built a amp rack (ill make it my profile picture, let me know how it looks since a 16 and 15 yr built it.) Im going to run the $ HFX subs on a prime 1200-1 to match my 4 channel. Yall got any tips on building the box and Tuneing the amp? Also any advice on how not to ruin what ive got lol. RainStryke Posted October 13, 2014 Report Posted October 13, 2014 You are shooting for 4 subwoofers? If so, you are going to need about 8 cubic feet to work with for the box.
alaskanzx5 Posted October 13, 2014 Report Posted October 13, 2014 1. Pay attention in math, lots of math n car audio. 2. If you can take as many woodworking classes as you can, great exp and it can lead to a good career. 3. Read up on and few others build logs. Tons of ideas from looking at others work. 4. Most important, there is always more to learn and you will never know everything. t1500bdcp 2 t2d4 15" 1 t600.4 1 t400.2 1 set p1 tweets singer alt, tons of wiring, smd vm-1, 80prs, back seat delete, still in the works, aiming for a 145-147 with the ability to play 25hz up to 50hz.
BudgetSystem2017 Posted October 14, 2014 Author Report Posted October 14, 2014 Thanks for the responses yall. And yes im shooting for 4 subs. Why would I need 8 cubic ft? i have a box desigend to fit in my rear cab that has 4 serpate cambers that are 1.33 cubic ft each . The HFX specs recommend 1.25 Dual HU (Marine Grade) Rockford 4 gauge-distro to 8Gauge Rockford 4chan 250 Rockford 6x8s Jensen 300 2chan 2 12in HFX Hifonics
alaskanzx5 Posted October 14, 2014 Report Posted October 14, 2014 The question is what size subs? Didnt see it mentioned. If manufacturer recommended is 1.25 then make sure you are near that net not gross. Net is gross minus sub, port, wood, and bracing displacement. 10" subs .75-1.5per ported usually 12" subs 1.5-2.5 ported usually 15" 2.5-3.5 ported usually Keeps going up from there with 18s liking 4cuft per or bigger ported from what I can find. Its all install and preference that matters though. Pending what your looking for and what those subs need to get there will determine what you need. t1500bdcp 2 t2d4 15" 1 t600.4 1 t400.2 1 set p1 tweets singer alt, tons of wiring, smd vm-1, 80prs, back seat delete, still in the works, aiming for a 145-147 with the ability to play 25hz up to 50hz.
