wrathchild281 Posted October 24, 2014 Author Report Posted October 24, 2014 does anyone know if the xs voltage control module would let me max my alt closer to 15+ volt range. I used to have the mla unit years ago and i liked what it did. Thinking since i got this vcm it will work in sync with my xs alt and let me adjust it from inside the car? 225 Excessive Amperage Alt. 4 Yellow top batteries Pioneer AVH-6600 Kicker KQ5 2 FI 18 BTL's fully loaded 2 zx 2500.1's 4 ks6.5 coaxials 4 ks5.25 coaxials kx650.4 http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2358078
wrathchild281 Posted October 24, 2014 Author Report Posted October 24, 2014 Since I have more supply ( and ill be running at 2ohms on both my sub amp less draw) I do t need as much storage. I Sa I stall it and watch voltage carefully. If its dropping below your comfort then upgrade to a bigger alt or add a second alt. If that's not an options batteries but make sure you charge them up good a few times week. for sure man will do about the weekly charging. Also im in the same boat. Kicker mono amps are only 2 ohms stable. With impedance rise im thinking draw should be much lower huh? 225 Excessive Amperage Alt. 4 Yellow top batteries Pioneer AVH-6600 Kicker KQ5 2 FI 18 BTL's fully loaded 2 zx 2500.1's 4 ks6.5 coaxials 4 ks5.25 coaxials kx650.4 http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2358078
wrathchild281 Posted October 24, 2014 Author Report Posted October 24, 2014 Common grounds are better but yes a single 0guage wire can't handle 450 amps but I would hope op already new that. would 2 runs of kicker ofc hyperflex do that? it should just fine right? and yes i have the big 3 done as well. 225 Excessive Amperage Alt. 4 Yellow top batteries Pioneer AVH-6600 Kicker KQ5 2 FI 18 BTL's fully loaded 2 zx 2500.1's 4 ks6.5 coaxials 4 ks5.25 coaxials kx650.4 http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2358078
alaskanzx5 Posted October 24, 2014 Report Posted October 24, 2014 Honestly, I don't see you holding above 12v very well with what you have. The voltage module can help slightly. I bigger alt and less batteries is a better option imo. For wiring I would want at least the capacity to handle 600amps. You will most likely pull between 400-500 from what you have said. 2 runs of 0 guahe rated at 300amps and grounds to match. t1500bdcp 2 t2d4 15" 1 t600.4 1 t400.2 1 set p1 tweets singer alt, tons of wiring, smd vm-1, 80prs, back seat delete, still in the works, aiming for a 145-147 with the ability to play 25hz up to 50hz.
